Smith-Blair ® 331 Double Bale Repair Service
Saddles provide an excellent way to both repair and
restore a damaged branch connection in one operation.
They can also be used on new installations where a large
saddle boss and gasket are desired.
331 Repair Service Saddles are available in 4” through
12” (100-300 mm) nominal sizes to fit all classes of cast
iron pipe and all class 100, all class 150 and most class
200 asbestos cement pipe.
Threaded outlets are available in sizes 3/4” through 2”
NPT (19-50 mm), and 5/8” through 1-1/2” CC (15-38 mm)
and BSP.
The Repair Service Saddles’ wrap-around design and
tangent-strap method of tightening, direct the mechanical
forces toward and around the pipe to reinforce it, to
provide a positive seal without crushing action and to give
the saddle excellent stability on the pipe.
The 6-1/4” (158 mm) diameter concentric-ribbed
gasket conforms to pipe surface irregularities to ensure a
positive, dependable, seal of damaged areas up to 4-1/4”
(108 mm) in diameter.
